Michelle Trachtenberg is No Gossip Girl

New Gossip Girl star Michelle Trachtenberg is accused of being just that, after a blog post on Just Jared claims the actress talked smack about newly wedded Pete Wentz as she waited for a flight over the weekend.
When asked about the story by Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM show, Michelle flatly denied ever speaking negatively about the Fall Out Boy frontman, who tied the knot with Ashlee Simpson on Saturday.

“Pete’s been a friend of mine for years. I think the world of him. I would never trash him,” said Michelle, adding that she’s “very happy” for the couple.

Nevertheless, Ryan did pass on some sage advice: “If you’re gonna talk crap on somebody, do it via text. That’s how I roll.”

Unless, of course, you’re dissing Simon Cowell each week in front of 30 million American Idol viewers. Then it’s OK to speak your mind freely and openly.

New Gossip Gal Teases More “Scandalous” Shockers

In the same way that Heather Locklear made waves in the Melrose Place pool, Michelle Trachtenberg’s Georgina has arrived on the Gossip Girl scene with a bang. In the matter of two episodes, she has made us call into question what we know and believe about “good girl” Serena — and there are more OMG moments to come, to hear the Buffy alumna tell it. TVGuide.com invited Trachtenberg — who also stars in ABC Family’s The Circuit this June 8 — to preview the final two episodes of The CW serial’s freshman run. (Gossip Girl airs Mondays at 8 pm/ET.) — Matt Webb Mitovich

TVGuide.com: When they first pitched you Georgina, was the b-i-t-c-h word openly used?
Michelle Trachtenberg: Oh yeah, for sure. [Gossip Girl exec producer] Josh Schwartz called and was really supporting and adamant about me getting the role. He was like, “This character is going to come into the world and ruin everyone’s lives and stir things up. She’s a bitch and she enjoys it. She’s not malicious not just to be difficult. She’s malicious because that’s what makes her life enjoyable.” All of those things sounded really good.

TVGuide.com: The idea of serving up some nasty appealed to you?
Trachtenberg: Yeah. It’s a character that I never really played before. I knew that people wouldn’t necessarily expect it from me, so why not keep people guessing constantly. And I knew I could have fun with it. It took a little convincing and prodding and whatnot, but eventually it felt like a fun thing to do. Read the rest of this entry »

Michelle Trachtenberg to become a regular

Word on the Upper East Side streets is that evildoer Georgina Sparks will elect residence in NYC permanently next fall. According to E! Online’s Kristin Dos Santos, Michelle Trachtenberg’s mutli-episode arc stint will become a regular one when Gossip Girl returns for its second season.

Trachtenberg has gotten fair reviews about her portrayal of bad teen Georgine Sparks so far, and her addition to the cast did create some, err, sparks! The character is there to generate some waves and is not worried about hurting people along the way (see “All About My Brother” if you need proof). So what will this permanent addition mean for the show? More drama? More secrets? More backstabbing? Serena going back to her evil ways for good? No matter the answer, you can bet that Sparks will see her name in print on the Gossip Girl blog more than once.

Kristin Dos Santos also says that the show will have a second season of 24 episodes and that the first few episodes back will see the characters on vacation in the Hamptons.

Gossip Girl: The Bad Girl is Back

Blake Lively and Michelle TrachtenbergEver since Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) got off the train at Grand Central in the pilot episode of Gossip Girl, she’s been desperately trying to trade in her former party-girl ways to become the goody-goody type of girl that middle class folk like Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) can stand to be around. And guess what? It’s gotten a little bit boring.

To be perfectly honest, I never really believed Serena’s claims that she used to be a bad girl. Sure, she was responsible for stealing the keys to the school pool, resulting in a raucous, drug-filled pool party that nearly got a student killed. Sure, she slept with her best friend’s boyfriend before running away to boarding school. And yes, she does enjoy a cocktail or five on a schoolnight. But Serena’s earnest attempts at being good always strike me as wishy-washy. I don’t know, maybe it’s the simpering way Blake Lively delivers her lines. Read the rest of this entry »

‘Gossip Girl’ Set Visit

NEW YORK — As the newbie on “Gossip Girl,” Michelle Trachtenberg expected some hazing when she started on set, but her new acting partner has given her a little more than she bargained for.

“He keeps wanting to sniff my butt, but we’re so not there yet,” Trachtenberg said.

And no, she doesn’t mean Chace Crawford or Penn Badgley, who play the show’s hearthrobs Nate and Dan. She’s talking about Dylan, a 6-year-old dog her character Georgina uses to lure Dan into having a conversation with her in Central Park.

“He has no idea who she is,” Badgley told MTV News. “If he did, he wouldn’t be interacting with her, because she represents everything he hates.”

“That, and I made his lady love [Serena] live in hell for a bit,” Trachtenberg added.
